About Gloria Kotut

Gloria Kotut is the Head of Bookkeeping & Payroll Services at ClearTax, where she leads the delivery of accurate, reliable and well-structured bookkeeping and payroll solutions for businesses across Kenya.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with IT, specializing in Finance, and brings over 8 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, internal audit, payroll and tax matters.

Before joining ClearTax Consultancy, Gloria worked as an Internal Auditor at a leading SACCO in Kenya, where she gained extensive experience in financial controls, risk management, compliance and internal processes. She also served as an Internal Accountant at a leading retail chain in Kenya, gaining hands-on experience in day-to-day accounting, financial reporting and business operations.

Her experience also includes working as an outsourced accountant for various businesses and schools across Kenya, giving her a broad understanding of the accounting challenges faced by businesses of different sizes and across different sectors.

Gloria has also been involved in tax dispute resolution and KRA engagements, including preparing, facilitating and presenting tax defence matters for various clients. Her exposure to both accounting records and tax disputes gives her a practical understanding of how proper bookkeeping can make a significant difference when a business faces a tax audit or query from KRA.

At ClearTax, Gloria oversees bookkeeping and payroll services, helping clients maintain accurate financial records, strengthen their financial controls and stay compliant with their tax and statutory obligations. She works closely with clients to ensure that their accounting records do more than satisfy compliance requirements: they provide reliable information that business owners can use to understand their businesses and make better decisions.

Gloria is passionate about bookkeeping and believes that good bookkeeping is the backbone of a well-run business. In her view, when a business has accurate and up-to-date financial records, the owner can clearly see where the money is coming from, where it is going, what the business owes, what it owns and whether it is truly making money.

Her approach combines accuracy, accountability and practical business understanding. She is particularly passionate about helping businesses move from reactive accounting, where records are prepared only when a tax return is due, to proactive financial management where bookkeeping becomes an important tool for planning, decision-making and growth.
